The listed Italian Renaissance style façade of the historic Odeon Cinema formerly known as the Regent has been the key focus of this design from the beginning. Our design sought to keep the original façade intact, making a clear architectural definition between old and new. The glass tower set back from the original buildings colonnade contains the residential accommodation. The "T" shaped plan form gives nearly all the apartments sea views but also achieves a narrower appearance to the new addition, set well in from the width of the original façade below.
At ground and first floor level the scheme contains commercial / retail units to the Westover Road frontage and at the rear Hinton Road services the multi level carpark with lift access directly into the 84 apartments housed within the contemporary tower above.
